Abstract

VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) is defined as a technology which has posibility for voice communication using network based IP (Internet Protocol). In VoIP application, it is needed bandwidth management to maintain the performance and the excellence of the system. One of the methods used for the bandwidth management is Class Based Queue (CBQ). CBQ which is a queueing method that manages the use of network bandwidth which is allocated for each user can apply the class devision and share link bandwidth through hirarchially classical structure. The management of bandwidth is addresed IP, Port or interface which can be configurated arbitrarily. PC Server used is the Linux Ubuntu server Operating System. The experiment is conducted in Local Area Network with Star typology. The experiment is done by taking service quality parameter that is delay and packet loss.Additionally, the experiment is executed with comparison of two conditions before being given the service priority dan after being given service priority. The result with 3 client is reached delay without priority of 8,57 ms and after being given 8,29 ms priority. From the result, it is reached that after being given the priority then delay is getting better. Afterwards, the result is compared to a standard that is TIPHON standard to rate delay
